The Wagon was built by my father Dirck a few years after he graduated fron Cornell in the early seventies. I am the little fellow on the left hand side of the picture. We lived in the wagon as my parents worked in and around Ithaca New York. It was a few years later that they decided to settle down in sunny California at what has become Porter-Bass Vineyards. The wagon came with us a great kids playhouse and retreat from the house. A few years ago when we started the wine brand and needed to support the winery, my wife Elena and I decided to move into the wagon. We have spent a happy few years in the small structure, but look forward to the day when we move into a proper house. With beautiful views of the vineyard it should make a great guest room.
